The Worlds’s First Resveratrol Enhanced Wine


Many of Australia’s wine companies were founded by doctors such as Penfolds, Lindemans, Hardys, Angoves, Houghtons, Minchinbury and Stanley.

The Wine Doctor label, established by the medical and wine historian Dr Philip Norrie, also a Sydney GP, is a modern expression of this great tradition.

The Wine Doctor wines contain up to 100 times more of the powerful red wine antioxidants Resveratrol than found naturally in wine.

The normal red wine antioxidants content of wine is 1-2 milligrams per litre (whites) and 4-6 mg/l (reds). The Resveratrol content of both The Wine Doctor wines has been boosted to 100 mg/l.

The anti-oxidants in wine are not stored in the body, so it is regular consumption, in moderation, of The Wine Doctor wines that delivers a significant dose of Resveratrol.

Dr Norrie, who has a busy general practice at Elanora Heights in Sydney, says moderate consumption can be defined as a standard 750ml bottle of wine each day, shared between two people, with women advised to drink a little less than men.

Invention of R.E.W.

Dr. Philip Norrie invented Resveratrol Enhanced Wine in 2006 and shortly thereafter founded The Wine Doctor label. Dr. Norrie gained his medical degree from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and also completed a PhD on the history of wine as a medicine.

To date, Dr. Norrie has published more than 18 books and articles related to wine, and after more than 30 years in general practice was compelled to create a wine that had the potential of fulfilling its promise as a truly preventative medicine.

Dr. Norrie combined his medical expertise and winemaking knowledge to enable the development of the world’s first, full strength, patented full of red wine antioxidants, Resveratrol Enhanced Wine.

The Wine Doctor R.E.W. process meets Australian food standards and wine-labelling requirements because Resveratrol is a natural grape product and the added Resveratrol is itself also a natural product derived from grapes.

Our wine operations are concentrated in South Australia including offices and vineyards in the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale.
